Peter Collins was born in Dublin, where he later studied Visual Communication at DIT Mountjoy Square. He currently resides in Glasgow.

"Subject matter as diverse as astronomy, anatomy and politics have helped shape these paintings. However, my key influence and subsequently, the presence felt in the majority of my work, is music; festivals, clubbing, live gigs, DJing and listening.

I vary style and technique and work on several pieces at once. This allows me to keep things fresh and ensures that ideas overlap and feed off each other.

When placed side by side, the diversity of the paintings form their own unique symmetry: a chaotic balance.

There are dark, light and humourous elements present; sometimes all in the same piece. I leave it to viewers to find their own connections."
